Overlooking a lake and golf course in the Hedgestone neighborhood, the Shiraz is a four-bedroom, 4.5-bath home with 4,059 square feet and 7,090 total square feet, which includes a large pool deck, a covered lanai area with an outdoor kitchen and separate one- and two-car garages.
The model has a semi-circular paver driveway that accesses each garage. The façade is accented by precast stone, used as crown molding; surrounds around windows, garage doors and the entry’s arched opening; and has medallions, corbels, columns and other decorative details. The 14-foot entry ceiling rises to three arched openings that are embellished with precast stone columns and metal scrollwork, which mimics the overlays atop two glass entry doors and its fanlight. Pavers cover the steps and entry floor.
The model’s open floor plan unfolds in the foyer, where views continue through the living room parlor’s three-mitered glass windows to the pool, flanked on each end by two large lion statues, and lake-to-golf views of the 10th and 11th holes of The Club at TwinEagles’ Gary Player-designed golf course. A single column defines the dining room to the foyer’s immediate left and allows the eye to take in a glimpse of the kitchen through a hallway opening. The nook, set within a trio of mitered glass windows, is also visible from the foyer.
Porcelain flooring is used throughout most of the Shiraz, with carpet inserts used in the living room and bedrooms. The foyer’s ceiling is painted a spa blue and is accented with wide, taupe-hued crown molding, a color used in most of the home’s moldings and window and door woodwork. Two iron light fixtures illuminate the foyer.
A wall of faux-finished built-in shelves, filled with books and art objects, gives the dining room a rustic feel. The ceiling has two levels of crown molding — one has a dentil motif; the other floats along a lower level. Wallpaper covers the highest surface of the ceiling.
The same wallpaper is repeated in the living room ceiling, which has dentil crown molding and floating molding with cove lighting. Plantation shutters are built into one wall and flank a sofa. Three-levels of shutters are repeated in the opposite wall, hiding a flat-screen TV and a variety of shelving and storage.
The powder bath has wallpaper, a floating cabinetry vanity with a cedar-hued limestone countertop and backsplash.
The kitchen has a raised breakfast bar with double sink and a raised paneled dishwasher with hidden controls. The room also offers a center island with a single stainless steel sink, brown granite countertops, an Italian cream marble backsplash, a walk-in pantry, paneled side-by-side Thermador refrigerator-freezer, and a built-in stainless steel oven tower. Cabinetry provides a variety of storage options and includes a Lazy Susan, pullout shelves and task lighting.
Floating crown molding encircles the room beneath stripes of spa blue and taupe paint. The vaulted coffer ceiling is finished with wallpaper resembling mosaic chicklet tile in various shades of blue and has faux-finished crown molding and picture molding. Its iron and crystal chandelier adds a touch of formality.
Zero-corner doors on a 45-degree angle in the adjoining family room and mitered glass in the nook provide a nearly continuous wall of glass in this area of the model and display pool, spa and golf views.
The family room has built-in cabinetry that includes a wine alcove and a wet bar with sink, glass-door U-line wine refrigerator, task lighting and Italian cream marble backsplash. Cabinetry above the granite countertop has glass doors, glass shelves and interior lighting.
The family room’s octagonal ceiling has floating crown molding, blue-painted picture molding and repeats the mosaic wallpaper found in the kitchen. A built-in entertainment center incorporates a flat-screen TV and storage behind solid doors.
Additional wine storage is provided in an adjoining hallway that leads to the largest guest suite. Built-in cabinetry offers a variety of shelving options for storing wine and has a brown granite countertop and drawers and solid wood doors on the lowest level.
The guest suite has plantation shutters, wood-stained crown molding, and three ceiling-to-floor mirrors anchored on the wall next to the bed. The low upholstered headboard also serves as an extra-wide display area. The bedroom’s full bath doubles as the pool bath and has a glass-enclosed shower with a pebbled tile floor, darker cabinetry and a granite countertop. It also has wood-painted crown molding and wall covering that resembles weathered wood planks.
The outdoor area and pool deck has a paver surface, and feature the builder’s signature “pub and grill,” offering a summer kitchen equipped with a stainless steel gas Dacor grill, a stainless steel U-line refrigerator, stainless steel cabinet doors, granite countertop, and a tile, precast stone and stucco hood. The wet bar has a low granite countertop and ceramic sink.
Precast stone accents the capitals and bases of the verandah’s square fluted columns, which support wide view-framing arched openings.
The raised spa has a chiseled-edge tile surface and a spillway into the pool. Two flower medallions embedded in the spa’s side also spill water into the pool, which offers built-in benches on each side of the spa.
The Shiraz’s master suite and study are off the foyer. The study has a porcelain floor, walk-in closet, and an L-shaped desk/built-in topped with cedar-hued limestone and offers storage behind solid wood doors. The ceiling has an intricate design with floating molding and mirrored sides.
Walk-in closets are on each side of the hallway leading into the master bedroom. The bed wall consists of four sections of beveled mirrors that reflect views from double glass doors and a four-window bayed sitting area. The room also has crown molding and an octagonal tray insert accented with faux-finished floating molding and cove lighting.
The bath has Chinese motif wallpaper in hues of spa blue and cocoa, a separate water closet with a bidet, a linen closet and dark-hued wood cabinetry that floats above a porcelain floor. The single vanity has a marble countertop and dual sinks, set below a trio of beveled-edge mirrors. Floating crown molding with cove light accents the lowest level of the ceiling. The surface of an octagonal tray within the ceiling is painted spa blue and has two more levels of floating and regular crown molding.
The jetted tub has a built-in pillow, oversized white marble deck and a wood paneled surface. It is positioned below two windows. The walk-in shower has a pebbled tile floor, glass-block window, porcelain walls and an oversized marble-top bench. It also has dual controls and a rainhead.
An archway leads to a vestibule that accesses the private, one-car garage.
The model’s additional two guest rooms are off the hallway separating dining room and kitchen. Each uses porcelain floors in high-traffic areas with carpet inserts. One is shown as a sitting room and has floating crown molding and a full bathroom with granite countertop, beveled-edge mirrors and a glass-enclosed shower. The second guest room also has a carpet inset, reverse floating molding, and a full bath with a pebbled tile floor in the shower.
The laundry room has a front-loading Bosch washer and dryer, and a deep utility sink. Storage is provided by upper and lower cabinetry and in a closet in the hallway.
The Shiraz was built following green building practices. Additional features include an intercom, air-conditioned garage storage, storm-resistant impact glass, storm shutters and a 15-kilowatt propane-operated generator.
The Shiraz features interior design and original artwork by Michael Valentine, of Interior Elements by Valentine & Stone. It is priced at $2.495 million, fully furnished.
